The Literacy Leader’s Toolkit

Patrick Taylor and I are really pleased this has now come to publication. It sort of sums up where we are and where www might go next. Building the literate community is an essential task. Keeping all the ‘literacy village’ in eager awe of what there is and what is to come is an inspiring task.

Forgive the hubris, but we had a very generous review in Secondary Teaching this month:

Here, instead of presenting the notion as a troublesome necessity to be tackled bravely, the authors retain a sense of infectious enthusiasm throughout – yes, the idea is to enable students to express themselves effectively across the curriculum, but at the same time, there is a real sense of nurturing a love of language, too. This is as much an uplifting read as it is a useful manual and as such, a worthy addition to your reference shelves.

About Graham Tyrer

I hope to encourage learning and literacy. Stumbling towards an authentic understanding is, I think, an honourable journey. (All these views, are, of course, purely personal.)
